What you mail is
YOUR IMAGE!
This is why we place such emphasis on the quality of your printed mailing piece.

Here's a quick tutorial on scanning your image. You may have to try scanning several times until you get the quality desired. Also the general instructions below may not be an accurately detailed to your scanner. Please refer to your owner's manual.

1. Turn on your PC and scanner (you may have a small power light is on front of your scanner),
2. Place your graphic face down on the scanner bed with the corner of the graphic where the arrow points to outside of the. The top of the graphic should match with the edge of the glass on the scanner bed.
3. In Windows, click on Start on the Taskbar.
4. Locate Abode Photoshop® or scanning application from your menu.
5. From "File" on the menu bar, select "Import" from the drop down.
6. Highlight and click on the scanning software from the next menu which opens.
7. Your "scanning software" will start a preliminary scan of your graphic. You can stop the preliminary scan by clicking on the Cancel button, or you can wait for the scanner to complete its initial scan.
8. Click on Custom.
9. Select Image Type.
10. In the "Customize Image Type" window,

· select the appropriate color content and style.
· for color photos, highest color option (example: 32 bit)
· for black & white, select gray scaling.
· The width and height should be set to 1:1 ratio, full size or made bigger through "scaling"
· Resolution should be set to at least 300dpi
· click OK.
Note: Using higher dpi resolutions will create larger (slow loading) image files, but will not result in better looking graphics because most monitors cannot display that many pixels.

11. The scanned image can be adjusted by using the three (3) selections, Highlight and Shadow, Color Adjustment, Emphasis, under Tools on the menu bar.
12. You will see the scanned image change as you do the various adjustments available under Tools.
13. When satisfied with your scanned image, click on the Final button.
14. The image is now in Photoshop®, and your scanning application will close , unless you want to re-scan your image.
15. The Save As window will open.
16. your image file will be saved as a .jpg file.
17. Name your image and click save
18. The final scan image file will be saved to a disk or your hard drive.
19. Now you can import your image into your document type.
